FREEMAN & SHERBURNE
Lauris N. Sherburne became a partner of L. L. Freeman in the insurance business in Vienna in 1940. Mr. Freeman had operated the business alone since 1918, until Mr. Sherburne, graduate of National University and member of the District of Columbia bar, joined him.
Upon the death of. Mr. Freeman in 1941, Mr. Sherburne, assisted by his wife, took over the business and in 1945 decided to sell real estate in addition to the established insurance business.
Real estate throughout the county is handled by the company-farm, residential and commercial. Sales have steadily increased in the past few years. Mr. Sherburne says, especially in the residential area. He added that he thought that sales would continue high in the Washington area despite any economic fluctuations nationally.
Mr. Sherburne said that development in the Vienna area would be unlimited, especially' in the commercial line, if the town water mains were installed.
